Welcome to the Home of the Indiana Assisted Living Association. We are an association of communities that are leaders in the provision of assisted living in Indiana. The communities vary in size and scope of service in a number of ways. Our member communities include single entity Housing with Services Establishments, to Residential Care Facilities that are a part of large multi-state organizations. Depending on the philosophy and licensing decision, the community lifestyles may range from active resident living to caring for residents with dementia. What is an Assisted Living residence?
An assisted living residence is a special combination of housing, personalized supportive services and health care designed to meet the needs -- both scheduled and unscheduled — of those who require help with activities of daily living. It is a long-term residence option that provides resident-centered care in a residential setting. It is designed for those who need extra help in their day-to-day lives but who do not require 24-hour skilled nursing care.

The State of Indiana has specific laws, rules and regulations that define assisted living. They are like no other state's requirements.
