Assisted Living is not federally regulated so the State of Indiana probably defines assisted living differently than other states. The following information may assist you as you come to understand assisted living in Indiana.

Consumer Waiver Guide
For person desiring assisted living services, and who qualify for Medicaid, the attached booklet describes Indiana Medicaid Home and Community-Based Services Waiver Programs. It describes multiple waiver services but the one for older adults is called the assisted living waiver. This enables them to receive the supports they need to live, work and recreate in the community. Please be advised that the services may change at any time depending on legislative action or administrative decisions.

Indiana Services by County
Accessing the Assisted Living (Medicaid) Waiver funding is accomplished through the Area Agency on Aging offices located around the state. The state is divided into 16 areas with Area Agency on Aging offices that include services in a number of counties.
